
Rabbi Greenberg earned her M.A. in Hebrew Letters at the
Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion's Los Angeles
campus.
After her ordination from the HUC-JIR in New York in 2000,
Rabbi Michelle Greenberg served as an assistant rabbi in Denver,
Colorado, where she focused on adult education, outreach and
youth programming. While serving as the only rabbi in Brownsville,
Texas, Rabbi Greenberg worked with the local parish to build
Catholic-Jewish dialogue. Her sermon, "Is It Comical?,"
is published in a textbook on critical thinking and she gave
the benediction at the Inauguration of the Governor of Illinois
in January of 2007.
Rabbi Greenberg has created innovative music programs that
have brought together Mariachi and Klezmer musicians, designed
teen Talmud study programs and coordinated a nationally acclaimed
HIV/AIDS prevention program. Rabbi Greenberg sits on the boards
of the Chicago Association of Reform Rabbis, the Chicago Board
of Rabbis and the Anti-Defamation League. Rabbi Greenberg
brings a passion for Judaism, dedication to youth, social
justice and education as well as a warm and caring spirit
to her rabbinate.
Rabbi Greenberg left Temple Jeremiah in June 2010 to pursue
a teaching and rabbinic career on the West Coast. She has
been succeeded by Rabbi Emily Segal.
