Decade of the 20's
The first of our popular "Decades" program, the Decade of the 20's celebrated the music of Al Jolson and Eddie Cantor while providing an overview of the history of that era as World War I came to an end and Prohibition began.
Decade of the 30's
Over 200 people gathered in November for a memorable afternoon of music and memories as Cantor Amy Zussman, David Lornson and Rabbi Paul Cohen journeyed back in time to revisit the headlines and songs of this bittersweet time. If ever a decade needed songs to lift the spirits, it was the 30's. From the Wall Street Crash to the outbreak of World War II, the music of the Big Bands helped people dance over to "The Sunny Side of the Street." Guests enjoyed a wide medley of music from this decade.
