Chai Society: "Getting There is Half the Fun" 

Kicking off our 2010 musical season, this Chai Society program featured a repertoire of songs on transportation - by boat, car, train, plane and walking. Attendees swayed to such tunes as the "Chattanooga Choo-Choo," "These Boots Were Made for Walking" and " Leaving on a Jet Plane."

Cantor Amy Zussman sang, accompanied by David Lornson, while congregant Victoria Weisenberg provided the narration.

Adult Purim Celebration: Megillah, Margaritas & All That Jazz 

Mordecai and Maracas? Temple Jeremiah's held its most festive Purim yet as we put a Latin twist on this year's holiday celebration. We mixed it up with popular Mexican food and drinks and enjoyed a high-spirited Megillah reading along with live jazz by the Jon Hey Jazz Quartet and conversation.

Teen Song-Leading Workshop

Music Specialist Alan Goodis and Cantor Amy Zussman led this workshop which gave 8th to 12th graders the opportunity to learn new music and skills. Our workshop included: techniques for teaching songs in group settings; group song-leading and ruach sessions; repertoire building; preparation; and finding spirituality in song. Participants tried out their new skills at a Family Havdallah Program on Saturday, March 20 and during Religious School on Sunday, March 21.

50th Anniversary Celebration

Temple Jeremiah's year-long celebration of its 50th anniversary culminated in this exciting weekend.

Shabbat Service with Rabbi Eric Yoffie & Debut of Composition, "Miracles"

Our exciting weekend gala began with a Shabbat Service with Rabbi Eric Yoffie, president of the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ). The service featured a look back at 50 years of inspiring worship services at Temple Jeremiah.

"Dancing Through the Decades"

Over 200 congregants attended our gala dinner dance featuring music from 1959 to today. The evening included a candle-lighting ceremony honoring each of the five decades of Temple Jeremiah and a video presentation of "Jeremiah at 50." Confirmation Ceremony & Dedication of Torah of Our Own

Our 50th anniversary activities and the Torah of Our Own Project culminated with the dedication of the temple's new Torah during Confirmation Services. Click above for more details and to see photos from this inspirational program.

Women Cantors' Network (WCN) Concert

An exciting musical event took place as 100 cantors, including our own Cantor Amy Zussman, and synagogue musicians from the WCN jointed the choir from Beth Shalom B'nai Zaken Ethiopian Hebrew Congregation at Anshe Emet for a special performance. Special guest was Hazzan Alberto Mizrahi.

If you missed the opportunity to attend this program, the concert will be broadcast at 8:00 pm, Monday, June 21 on Radio WFMT 98.7. It will also air during Temple Jeremiah's High Holy Day Services in September.
