Oscar-winning songwriter Marvin Hamlisch gave a star-studded
performance before over 200 people at Temple Jeremiah's fundraiser
and gala event. The program was held at Temple Jeremiah's
newly renovated synagogue.
Mr. Hamlisch, who has won every major musical
award, including three Oscars, four Grammys, four Emmys,
one Tony and three Golden Globe awards, regaled the audience
with a medley of his best known hits, including "The
Way We Were", "The Sting", "The Chorus
Line" and "The Goodbye Girl." A highlight
of the evening was when Temple Jeremiah's own Amy Zussman
sang "Can't Help Loving That Man" with Mr. Hamlisch.
The evening featured a gourmet dinner, silent
auction, featuring over 80 gift items and getaway packages,
and a raffle for "The Lion King" play at the Cadillac
Palace Theatre.
