Purim Celebration...
"Grease is the Word" Sunday, March 20, 2005
Congregants enjoyed an action-packed day as Temple Jeremiah
celebrated the holiday of Purim in a rock and roll "Grease"
way. The day's events included:
Second
Annual Shushan Shuffle 5K Run/Walk - Over 60 people
took part in this event, raising close to $1000 for SHALVA,
a local Jewish agency that helps victims of domestic violence
and abuse. Thanks to our sponsors, our Steering Committee, our
volunteers, our runners/walkers, our additional donors and our
"Shushan Shuffle" graphic designer for their help
in making this year's program a success.
Purim Spiel - Our talented troupe of Jeremiah
staff and board members presented their own rendition of the
Purim story, complete with greggers and a reading of the Megillah.
Purim Carnival - Greaser Danny Zuko and
the virtuous Sandy Olsson slid in with the rest of the gang
at our ever-popular Purim Carnival. Participants sang Karaoke,
bounced on the Moonwalk, played games, redeemed tickets and
enjoyed lunch and treats.
