Health Forum & Shabbaton: "Chicken Soup for the Jewish Genes"

Temple Jeremiah's Brotherhood, Sisterhood and Caring Community hosted a Health Forum and Shabbaton focusing on Jewish genetic diseases. Keynote speaker was Scott Weissman, Licensed Genetic Counselor at the Center for Medical Genetics at Evanston Northwestern Healthcare.

Break the Fast Pizza Party

Congregants celebrated the end of the Passover (bread) fast with a party hosted by Brotherhood featuring pizza, drinks, salad, dessert and good company, all at no cost.

Brotherhood Shabbat

 Brotherhood invited the entire congregation to share in a special Shabbat including a dinner and worship service.

Annual Jim Rosenholtz Memorial Golf Outing

Congregants gathered for breakfast at Eggshell Café followed by a fun day of golf at scenic Sportsman's Country Club.

Brotherhood Opening Event

Brotherhood kicked off its 2008/09 season with this great get-acquainted event. Temple Jeremiah men dropped in for coffee, bagels, lox and great conversation, met old friends and made new ones. This was also a great opportunity for newcomers to learn about Brotherhood.

Brotherhood Bulls Night

Brotherhood organized a trip to the United Center to see the Chicago Bulls take on the Atlanta Hawks. The all-inclusive package price of $59.95 included a ticket, transportation to and from the stadium, dinner, a Bulls poster and chance to win a new Infiniti.

Father-Daughter Dance

Over 21 dads and 29 daughters attended Brotherhood's first Father-Daughter Dance. This was a great chance for fathers and grandfathers to enjoy a social event with that special young lady (or ladies) in their life. Our package included a DJ, corsage, soft drinks, food, keepsake photos and other activities. Everyone had a great time and left with long-lasting memories.

Brotherhood invited congregants to celebrate the end of the Passover fast with a pizza party

Brotherhood Shabbat Dinner & Service

Brotherhood hosted a dinner for all congregants, followed by a Shabbat worship service

Annual Jim Rosenholtz Breakfast & Golf Outing

This Brotherhood favorite began with breakfast, followed by a fun day at the Wilmette Golf Club. The event included green fee, cart and prizes.

Texas Hold 'Em Tournament

Adults ages 21 and over enjoyed this fun event featuring poker, pizza, salad, munchies and drinks for the all-inclusive price of $18. Prizes were awarded to the top winners. Profits went to the Waukegan School District Kitchen Project.

Brotherhood Bulls Night

Brotherhood planned a trip down to the United Center to cheer on da Bulls. The evening included round-trip bus transportation, dinner, prizes and a raffle

Brotherhood Shabbat

Brotherhood hosted a Shabbat dinner open to the entire congregation, followed by an Erev Shabbat Service.

April 7

Break the Fast Pizza Party

Brotherhood sponsored a pizza party to celebrate the end of Passover.

End-of-School-Year Barbecue

To culminate our end-of-school-year activities, Brotherhood hosted a barbecue for congregants and Religious School families

Brotherhood Golf Outing

Congregants had a swinging time at the Annual Jim Rosenholtz Breakfast & Golf Outing, beginning with breakfast at Eggshell Café followed by golf at the scenic Wilmette Country Club.

Brotherhood Ravinia Night

Brotherhood planned a relaxing evening of entertainment with soul diva Patti LaBelle, who has enjoyed a long-standing career in contemporary music, hitting it big with sounds ranging from girl group and gospel to R&B and ballads.

All had a fun time at Brotherhood's pool party at the newly renovated Deerspring Pool.

Brotherhood Bears Game Day

Participants had a great time watching the Bears defeat their arch-rival, the Green Bay Packers, on a giant screen TV at temple. The event included pizza, drinks, prizes and half-time fun.

Brotherhood Opening Breakfast

Brotherhood members, new and old, enjoyed bagels, coffee and conversation at this kick-off event for the 2006/07 year.

Brotherhood Texas Hold 'em Tournament

Participants enjoyed Brotherhood's 3rd Annual Poker Night, which provided a fun night of cards, along with pizza and snacks.

Brotherhood Build-a-Playground Project in Waukegan

As the exciting culmination of this social action project to benefit Waukegan schools. congregants gathered together to put up a playground at Waukegan's EPIC Pre-School at 326 Julian Street in Waukegan. Our crew worked throughout the morning to install slides, swings and other playground equipment. Sisterhood served lunch to our volunteers.

Brotherhood 1st Annual Texas Hold 'Em Tournament

Over 70 people joined Brotherhood for dinner and a card tournament. Prizes were awarded to the top winners. Proceeds went to the Tsunami Relief Fund.

Brotherhood/Sisterhood Ya'All Come Square Dance & Dinner

Brotherhood and Sisterhood lined up a special treat for members, as we grabbed a partner and joined in an evening of dancing and dinner.

Brotherhood hosted its annual Shabbat Dinner, followed by a worship service.

Participants cheered on Da Bears on a humongous 6 x 8 foot TV while enjoying pizza, drinks, games, prizes and half-time fun.

Brotherhood Dinner & Program

Brotherhood hosted a dinner and program at Temple Jeremiah. Guest speaker was Rick Kruger of the National Federation of Temple Brotherhoods, who talked about his organization and the various causes it supports.

Brotherhood/Sisterhood Golf Outing

Brotherhood and Sisterhood jointly hosted this year's fun event. Starting off the day, golfers and non-golfers enjoyed breakfast at Eggshell Café. This was followed by golf at Sportsman's Country Club's scenic 27-hole course. An awards ceremony with prizes took place immediately following golf.

Brotherhood Opening Event

Men kicked off the season in style at Brotherhood's traditional opening event. We offered coffee, bagels, lox and great conversation, as well as a chance to get reacquainted with old friends and meet new ones.

Brotherhood Bears Game Day!

Temple Jeremiah families and guests enjoyed a box seat view of the game from the comfort of Temple Jeremiah's lobby. The Bears game aired on giant screen TVS with great speaker systems. The event included pizza, drinks, games, prizes and half-time show.
