| Sisterhood offers
a variety of avenues to help those in need. Various programs
take place each year, resulting in charitable contributions
to many fine organizations.
- The High Holy
Day Food Drive more than fills The ARK's trailer each
year.
- Sisterhood's Chanukah
Mitzvah Project, the "Wish Tags", generates gifts for
numerous clients of the Jewish Children's Bureau and The
ARK during the holiday season.
- The sale of Sisterhood's new cookbook raised much-needed
funds for software at the Waukegan
School District, as part of Temple Jeremiah's 2005/06
campaign to benefit the students there.
- In addition, Sisterhood's Annual Women's Seder supports
SHALVA, an agency which
works to prevent domestic abuse in Jewish households.
Thanks to everyone for their generosity.
High Holy Day Food Drive
Every High Holy Day season, Sisterhood collects Kosher
food and non-food items from our congregants for donation
to the ARK's Food Pantry, the only Kosher food pantry in
the Midwest. Thanks to our congregants for their generous
donations this year.

Wish
Tags
Each year, Sisterhood, in cooperation with the ARK and
Jewish Child and Family Services, sponsors the Chanukah
Wish Tag program. The ARK provides Sisterhood with a list
of "wishes" from its needy families - children
and adults. Sisterhood places these tags in the temple lobby.
The drive has resulted in a tremendous outpouring of gifts,
from bicycles and DVDs to dolls, games and computer programs.
Serve-A-Meal
Volunteers are needed to serve a meal at the Jewish United
Fund Cafè, 909 W. Wilson, Chicago at various times.
