Please Give Generously
A severe earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale devastated
Haiti on Tuesday, January 12, 2010. This is the most severe
earthquake to hit that impoverished country in 200 years.
The death
toll
reached
tens of thousands. Schools, hospitals and thousands of homes
were destroyed, leaving over three million people without
adequate food, shelter, health care and basic infrastructure.
Countless people dug through the debris with
their bare hands, looking for
traces of their loved ones. In addition, the presidential
palace, a major hotel and the UN
headquarters
collapsed,
leaving
hundreds
buried in the rubble.
How You Can Help
Sponsor a Haitian Orphan
at Hope Village
Hope Village (Vilaj Espwa) in Les Cayes, Haiti, is home
and school to over 600 abandoned children, but dozens if
not hundreds more from Port-au-Prince are expected. Their
food and medical supplies nearly depleted, Hope Village needs
our help to feed, shelter, counsel and educate these newly-orphaned
children. Become a monthly sponsor now.
Double chai ($36)
supports one child for a month. Visit Free
the Kids to become a sponsor and
provide a future for a child.
A humanitarian trip to Hope
Village is being planned.
