Temple
Jeremiah Relief Efforts - Jacob's Ladder
September, 2005
Temple Jeremiah congregants generously stepped forward in
response to the tragedy left in the aftermath of Hurricane
Katrina. The Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) created a project
called Jacob’s Ladder, an effort to collect much needed
items and distribute them through our sister camp - Henry
S. Jacobs Camp - in Utica, Mississippi. Two women, Tina LaValliere
and Susan Brody, with the help of countless volunteers did
an amazing job responding to this call. A full trailer of
linens, toiletries and food was driven down to Mississippi
on September 20, 2005 to help provide relief. Thanks go to
Tina and Susan for co-chairing this effort and to all who
contributed their time and resources to make this project
a success.
