General Policies for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur

Membership Identification Cards, Memorial Book Form and Services

Choosing Services

When choosing which High Holy Day service to attend, please keep in mind that Adult Services are appropriate for adults and children over 12. If your household includes children under the age of 12, please arrange to share Family Services with them. Families with infants, preschoolers and younger school-age children may prefer to attend Children’s Services in addition to, or instead of, Family Services.

Membership Cards

Temple Jeremiah’s policy requires that High Holy Day Membership Identification Cards be distributed only if 25 percent or more of the member’s current fiscal dues are paid before September 1, all dues and fees of previous fiscal years have been paid in full and the member’s Commitment card has been submitted for the current fiscal year.

Guests

Members may invite extended family to services on a space-available basis. Members’ adult children (over age 25) and parents and grandparents of members may attend High Holy Day Services for a minimum donation of $100 per guest. Other family members may attend for a minimum donation of $200 each. For security purposes, contact us for a Guest Pass to attend Children’s Services or Afternoon, Yizkor or Concluding Services.

Reciprocity

If you will be out of town during the High Holy Days, we can help you find a synagogue. Temple Jeremiah is privileged to share reciprocity with other URJ congregations. Members of other URJ-affiliated congregations should contact their congregation to arrange reciprocity with Temple Jeremiah.

Babysitting

Babysitting will be available for children ages 6 years and younger at the 11 a.m. Adult Services for a non-refundable tzedakah contribution of $8 per child per service. For your children's well-being, you must register for babysitting in advance.

Deadline

After deadline, requests will be filled in the order they are received and must be picked up during office hours (8:30 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Thursday, 8:30 am - 3:00 pm Friday) at the temple office.

Memorial Book

It is a tradition to remember loved ones on the High Holy Days. We welcome your donation.
