House of Worship
Sabbath
services at Temple Jeremiah are held every Friday evening
and Saturday morning. In addition, during the school year
Tot Shabbat services are held
the first Friday of the month and Torah
for Tot services are held the third Saturday of the month
for children of non-reading age and their families.
The warmth of worship encourages enthusiastic
participation. Sermons, lectures, discussions, family worship
services and dinners are among the ways we greet the Sabbath
in the Rabbi Robert D. Schreibman
Sanctuary or the Joan and Stanley
Golder Chapel.
During the school year, our Sunday morning activities for
adults include special programs, brunches, family worship,
guest lectures and book reviews - all of which take place
during Religious School. Bar/Bat
Mitzvah services are held Saturday mornings.
As a member of Temple Jeremiah, you are welcome to worship
with us during Shabbat, High Holy Day services, festivals
and all holiday services. See Worship
Services & Torah Study Schedule for specific dates
and times.

Upcoming Activities
Temple Jeremiah & the Jewish Healing Network Present
A Sabbath for Recovery
Friday, May 23, 2008
8:00 pm Erev Shabbat Service
There is a pervasive myth that alcoholics and addicts are
never Jewish. The truth is that chemical dependency is an
equal opportunity disease. Denial in the Jewish community
about this disease contributes to the shame, guilt and isolation
of its victims. If chemical dependency is an issue for your
family or friends, powerful unspoken rules may keep you from
acknowledging that there is a problem.
Join us for a Shabbat service on May 23 and learn more about
addiction from a Jewish man in recovery. Alan G's story will
help you understand the disease of addiction in a new way.
There will also be information about Jewish and non-Jewish
resources to help people dealing with addiction and their
family members.

Shavuot Celebration: Dinner
& Tikkun
Sunday, June 8, 2008
6:30 pm Dinner
7:15 pm Program
To celebrate Shavuot, marking the giving of the Torah at
Mount Sinai, Temple Jeremiah will host a traditional light
dairy dinner followed by Tikkun (study).
This year we will view and discuss the movie, "Leap
of Faith," as a starting point to explore the themes
of the Festival of Shavuot. These include revelation, faith,
miracles and the power of people to change their lives and
the lives of others by encountering God's presence in unexpected
ways.
Cost of dinner is $7 with a portion of the proceeds going
to MAZON: The Jewish Response to Hunger. Look for your flyer
to sign up.
